Whitby’s Coliseum Centre to show double-bill theatre!

Badapple Theatre present a double bill :

“Yorkshire Kernel” & “The Land Girl

Thursday 5th October 2023
Tickets : £10 and concessions £7

Yorkshire Kernel is a fast-paced theatrical journey as Danny Mellor takes on all the characters in a comic and nostalgic tale. James’s Grandad is at death’s door, but he has one last mission: to find a tree. Many trees in fact, scattered around the country in memory of his Second World War comrades. Yorkshire wit and grit and one man’s determination to leave a long-lasting legacy.

The Land Girl is inspired by actual stories collected by Artistic Director Kate Bramley. This delightful and touching one-woman performance showcases some of the highs and lows of working on the land during wartime. From ration books to rat-catching, tap your feet and laugh along to songs and stories that capture the “can-do” spirit of the ladies who kept Britain fed during the hardships of World War II.

Holy Cow

Storyteller Emily Hennessey and sitar player Sheema Mukherjee conjure fast-flowing worlds of cosmic estate agents, celestial celebrities, daredevil demons and gods behaving badly in these Indian stories of liberation, lies, love and life.

This is performance storytelling & live music at its most accessible and engaging, bursting with humour, dance, ritual and an infectiously fun energy.
