BBC Radio Tees Make A Difference Awards by Gary Philipson

I’m Gary Philipson and my day job is presenting the BBC Radio Tees Morning Show between 10 and 2pm every weekday.

Last year I was proud to host the BBC Radio Tees Make A Difference Awards.

It was such an amazing night meeting and celebrating people who’ve done all sorts of incredible things for each other and our local communities that we are doing it again this year but we need your help.

Do you know someone who’s doing something brilliant for others? Or you might know of a fantastic community group or some great people who really make a difference to lives across Teesside, County Durham and North Yorkshire.

It’s now your turn to do your bit by nominating them for a BBC Radio Tees Make A Difference Award.

Whether it’s caring for someone in need, being a brilliant neighbour, or a dedicated emergency service worker, if you know someone who is really making a difference wherever you are, then get your nominations in!

There are 8 categories;

•Volunteer
•Community Group
•Fundraiser
•Carer
•Great Neighbour
•Bravery
•The Green Award
•The Together award

Our celebrity judges including Steph McGovern, Mark Benton, Jeremy Swift, and Bill Fellows will announce the winners at our Make a Difference awards ceremony in September.

Last year was a real privilege having so many amazing people from where we live in one room altogether letting them know how much we appreciate them. We laughed and cried and had such a brilliant night, so get involved.

We don’t like blowing our own trumpets around here and that’s why the Make A Difference Awards are so important. They are they to hold up a mirror to those who make our part of the world what it is.

You can nominate someone you know now at bbc.co.uk/makeadifference, where you can also see full Terms and our Privacy Notice. Nominations are now open and will close on the Sunday 5 March 2023at 11:00pm.

Up The Boro!
